My name is Kyle Har and I am currently a freshman student at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo majoring in journalism. Cal Poly is a campus that lacks diversity and is one of the whitest universities in the state of California. Cal Poly has had multiple racist incidents in the past with the most notorious incident happening in the spring quarter of 2018 when a fraternity member painted his face black for a fraternity party. Being a minority student, my mission is to raise awareness of Cal Poly’s lack of diversity, how it impacts the students, and what the administration is doing to improve campus diversity and inclusion.
